The Challenge

What needed to be designed

I wanted to practise parametric furniture design — locking key dimensions once so the whole model updates cleanly — and to optimise a timber cut-list from a single standard board.

The Approach

How DesignForge approached it

  1. 1

Locked seat height, back angle, and frame footprint into one parametric model.

  2. 2

Optimised the timber split so two seat slats and two back slats come from one standard board with under 8% waste.

  3. 3

Issued an assembly drawing with weld locations and a one-page cut-list.
