From rough idea to production-ready
Before
AfterWhat needed to be designed
PPE has to fit faces, not planes. The lens wraps in two directions at once, and the frame, nose bridge and temples all have to follow that same wrap with no gaps, no interference and a shut line that reads cleanly in a render.
How DesignForge approached it
- 1
Built the lens as a swept and lofted surface along a face-following curve, then thickened it to lens gauge.
- 2
Offset the frame from the lens edge as a separate body so the two-tone rim keeps constant thickness all the way round.
- 3
Modelled hinged temple arms and the nose bridge as distinct bodies for multi-material appearance assignment.
- 4
Assigned clear lens, teal accent and matte polymer appearances and rendered the set against a dark backdrop.
What was produced
The finished SolidWorks model with a wrap-around lens, layered two-tone frame and matte temple arms.
