BMW Multi-Spoke Alloy Wheel — SolidWorks Assembly
A performance alloy wheel built as a proper SolidWorks assembly — parametric spokes driven by a single circular pattern, mated into an assembly and spun with a rotary motor in a motion study.

From rough idea to production-ready
Before
AfterWhat needed to be designed
Spoke geometry is easy to fake and hard to make correct. I wanted a rim where spoke count is one editable parameter, the barrel is a true revolved section, and the whole thing lives in an assembly that can actually be rotated and evaluated.
How DesignForge approached it
- 1
Revolved the barrel from a real wheel-section profile with bead seats and drop centre.
- 2
Modelled one drafted, filleted spoke and drove the rest with a circular pattern tied to a single count parameter.
- 3
Cut the bolt circle and centre bore from the same reference sketch so the hub stays concentric.
- 4
Inserted the part into an assembly, added a RotaryMotor1 motion study and rendered with a machined-aluminium appearance.
What was produced
The real SolidWorks assembly: patterned spokes, dished barrel, brushed-aluminium appearance and a rotary motor motion study.
