Lifting Hook Block — Mechanical Assembly

From rough idea to production-ready
Before
AfterWhat needed to be designed
Lifting gear is unforgiving: the hook has to swivel, the sheave has to rotate, and the pins have to be located without over-defining the assembly. I wanted mates that behave like real degrees of freedom, not glued parts.
How DesignForge approached it
- 1
Modelled each component separately with realistic pin, bore and clearance dimensions.
- 2
Mated the stack so the sheave spins and the hook swivels, leaving the intended degrees of freedom free.
- 3
Colour-coded parts by function so the load path reads clearly at a glance.
- 4
Produced an exploded view and bill of materials for a fabrication-ready presentation.
What was produced
Colour-coded SolidWorks assembly showing every component in its mated position.
